The Product Authentication + Security Directory (PASD), an online directory of resources and suppliers, has been launched by BASCAP and Reconnaissance International. It is now available for suppliers to enter their details so that they will be brought to the attention of brand owners and others searching for information. Premium listings and site sponsorships are also on offer to organisations wanting a more prominent appearance on the Directory website. The PASD will help brand owners, IP professionals, and other companies identify the tools and relationships they need in order to protect themselves from product security threats like: counterfeiting, piracy, diversion, and cargo theft.

The Directory is a joint venture between Business Action to Stop Counterfeiting and Piracy (BASCAP), a division of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Reconnaissance (publisher of Authentication News®). This partnership seeks to combine the strengths of on-line availability of the BASCAP Directory with the comprehensive nature of the ACD into the standard place to begin any product security program. PASD combines the best features of BASCAP's previous web listing of suppliers and resources for brand owners and Reconnaissance's successful Authentication Connections Directory (ACD). It lists suppliers and resources by category, based on the listings in the ACD. Categories include, for example, investigators, consultants, legal professionals, associations, and technology providers, with technologies organised as substrates, coding, inks & pigments, with detailed sub-categories.

The online directory is hosted by BASCAP, whose site attracts brand owners seeking information about combating counterfeits, and there will be links to it from the ICC main site (which receives over 3m hits monthly), from Reconnaissance's site and others.

Annual listing in the PASD costs €95 (approx $132), with premium listing at €395 (approx $548), and all entries and payments can be made online. A standard listing provides contact information and a link to your website in up to eight categories, with the premium listing adding your logo, direct contact links, the option to submit product announcements and prominent positioning in each category screen.
